Isn’t The Entire Reason TV Exists, Because We Hate Reading?

According to a new survey, 1 out of 3 people say they usually keep the subtitles ON when they’re watching TV. But not to translate . . . people who speak English keep on English subtitles. Apparently people are doing it, just because they like them. This whole “subtitles on” thing seems like a younger phenomenon, with 50% of people under 24 liking subtitles, as well as 46% of people between 25 and 34. The older you are, the less likely you are to use them.
