Maybe Taking Huckleberry Finn Too Literally

I’m not sure that in 2019, the best way to get places is in Huckleberry Finn-style . . . but to each their own, I guess. Someone called 911 in Rock Island, Illinois last week, to report a guy was floating down the Mississippi River on a big LOG. The fire department sent out their rescue boat to save him. When they pulled him into the boat, he told them he was “moving from Illinois to Kentucky, and he thought he’d travel there via log”. The fire department dropped him off on the shore and was, “strongly encouraged to make other transportation arrangements.”
