Paul McCartney Back On The Road!!!

The greater New York City area is experience a late-summer bout of “Beatlemania” as Paul McCartney gears up for his third of eight area stops during the current leg of his ongoing “One On One” tour. McCartney already has two shows at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center under his belt, with next weekend seeing “Macca” hit Manhattan’s Madison Square Garden on Friday and Sunday nights (September 15th and 17th).

Although McCartney’s shows are top-heavy with Beatles classics, Wings-era fans still get their share of highlights, including such favorites as “Listen To What The Man Said,” “Maybe I’m Amazed,” “Letting Go,” “Live And Let Die,” “Let Me Roll It,” “Nineteen Hundred And Eighty Five,” “Jet,” “Hi, Hi, Hi,” “Band On The Run” — and even “Temporary Secretary.”

  • “Temporary Secretary” was released as a special 12-inch single from the former Beatle’s first album of the ’80s, 1980’s Top Three hit, McCartney II. Although at the time, McCartney II received a mixed critical reaction; today the album is now thought of as one of the most groundbreaking sets of the decade. McCartney admits that it was the then-current technology, which gave him the added inspiration for the album: [“McCartney II, the thing about it was that I had some time and I wanted to try something for my own pleasure. So this is right around when synths came out, and for me, more importantly — sequencers. So with sequencers you put — you could make up (imitates synthesizer riff) and you could change it to (imitates synthesizer riff).”] SOUNDCUE (:21 OC: . . . change it to (imitates synthesizer riff)
