Good News: #3
It’s a Monday after a holiday weekend, and we could all probably use a good news story. We did THREE this morning, one I posted on Facebook, and posted #2, and #3 here . . . ever wondered if those fast food joints who ask if you want to “round up” your bill for their charity, really use all that “loose change” for good? Well a student at East Tennessee State says she got a full ride to college thanks to Taco Bell. She worked there for two years and applied for the scholarship program they offer employees. She got $10,000 her first year, and a total of 40 GRAND by her senior year. With the other financial aid she also qualified for, she’s graduating debt-free next month. She posted a video thanking people, because a lot of the Taco Bell money came from customers. So if you’ve ever wondered if rounding up your change at the drive-thru it makes a difference . . . yes it can. (As a side note, the Taco Bell she worked at also threw her a prom during the pandemic, and someone joked they’re basically sponsoring her whole life at this point. What’s next, her wedding?)
