Why you want to think twice before taking that online quiz.

276 Million Adults At Risk Of Cyber Threats Via Apps, Quizzes

A recent AARP report found that over 276 million Americans encountered potential cyber threats through unverified apps and online quizzes.

Fraud prevention director Kathy Stokes said, “You may think responding to a quiz on social media is a fun way to spend a few minutes, right? That could be giving information to criminals to better target you.”

She added, “The FTC  reported losses at $10 billion due to cyber threats, but it was probably more like $158.3 billion in one year, leaving our economy due to underreporting.”

To better protect yourself against cyber threats, don’t reuse the same passwords, don’t use your social media account to log in to other platforms, and use a VPN when on public Wi-Fi.
