New Record: Only 54% of Americans Are Drinkers
This seems counterintuitive, especially as we head into the weekend. A new Gallup poll found fewer Americans are drinking alcohol than any time in the past 86 years. Only 54% say they drink, at least sometimes (the previous low was 55% in 1958). One reason for the decline is, more people see it as a health risk now. And young people are a big part of that trend. 53% of Americans now think even moderate drinking is bad for your health (up from 28% just 10 years ago). Is it just me, or does it seem like this survey has been skewed? CLEARLY the pollsters did NOT talk to Busch Light Drinkers in Putnam County.
