A new study says there’s a reason you feel worse after drinking while older.

Does Drinking Make You Feel Worse As You Age?

Your age impacts how you handle your liquor.

A dementia and geriatric doctor explained to HuffPost about how alcohol affects you as you get older.

In your 20s, the body is resilient, but developing habits of excessive drinking can lead to problems down the line.

As you enter your 40s, health risks like obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol increase, making even moderate drinking riskier.

In your 60s, tolerance for alcohol decreases due to age-related changes in enzyme levels, making even one glass a day detrimental to health.

The doctor compared alcoholic beverages to candy bars, emphasizing that over time, they can contribute to weight gain, blood sugar issues, cancer risk, and chronic illnesses.
