Level 3 Road Alert For Hancock County

Hancock County Sheriff Michael Cortez has elevated the county to a Level 3 Road Alert.

The move from Level 2 to Level 3 happened at 2:57 p.m. Sunday. Earlier in the afternoon, Sheriff Cortez gave advance notice that the county would be elevating to a Level 3.

According to the sheriff’s office, a Level 3 means most roadways are closed and extremely hazardous. Employees should comply with workplace policies or contact their employer. Violators may be cited.

A powerful winter storm has dropped a good amount of snow on the region.

Snow plows have been out and about trying to keep the roads cleared, and will continue to do so.
