Sheriff In Video Reminds People To Be Vigilant About Scams
Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn is in a video from the National Sheriffs’ Association reminding people to watch out for scams.
“Criminal networks are stealing billions of dollars through social media, phone calls, and texts, posing as people you trust,” Sheriff Wasylyshyn says in the video.
Five Steps That Stop Scams: Slow down – Verify – Hang Up – Don’t Click and Don’t Send Money.
Sheriff Wasylyshyn says legitimate law enforcement agencies and businesses do not demand immediate payment or personal information over the phone or online.
