Facts That Barely Anyone Has Heard Before

I really like finding out odd things that reminds me, how interesting the world can be! Recently, I stumbled upon this Reddit thread that asked: “What is something that sounds 100% false but is actually 100% true?” And that was enough to make me head down the “Wikipedia Rabbit Hole”! Here are some of my favorites . . .

  • Dragonflies are the most successful predators, and it’s not even close.
  • During a quiet night, a barn owl can hear a rat’s heartbeat from the top of the roof.
  • The first five US presidents most likely didn’t know that dinosaurs existed.
  • 25% of all known animal species are beetles.
  • There’s an almost 50-year gap, between the invention of the can, and the can opener.
  • Moose can swim. In fact, they can dive underwater and eat seaweed.

I also came up with the realization, that if moose can dive for seaweed . . . I can at least commit to a salad once a week.
