Local Schools Enter ODOT’s Paint-The-Plow Contest

Voting is underway in the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1’s Paint-the-Plow contest.

The Paint-the-Plow program allows students to paint an ODOT snowplow blade that will be displayed at local community events before being used in regular winter operations, usually within the same school district that painted the plow.

In recognition of America’s 250th anniversary, this year participants were encouraged to create designs that honor our nation or recognize Ohio’s national contributions.

“Choosing a favorite won’t be easy – We have 24 plows from schools in our nine-county district,” ODOT District 1 said on its Facebook page.

Liberty-Benton and Cory-Rawson are among the school districts that entered the contest this year.

“The artists brought their A-game this year.”

“Photos do not do them justice, so this summer, keep an eye out for them at your local parades and county fairs.”

ODOT says each reaction, comment, or share counts as a vote.

Voting is open through Wednesday, May 20, at 3 p.m.
