New Ohio Bill Would Regulate And Ban Some AI-Generated Content

(ONN) – An effort to put some controls on artificial intelligence has moved forward at the Ohio Statehouse.

The Ohio Senate passed Senate Bill 168.

It’s a bipartisan push regulating AI-generated content.

The bill would criminalize harmful deepfakes, protect against replica identity fraud, and explicitly ban AI-generated child exploitation images.

It would also demand recognizable watermarks on public AI images to increase transparency.

The bill now heads to the Ohio House.
