🗣️ Northwest Ohio Talks
Is Summer Flying By Faster Than It Used To?
Have you noticed something?
It seems like we spend months looking forward to summer, and then somehow it disappears before we have a chance to enjoy it.
One day we’re firing up the grill for Memorial Day, planting flowers, and making vacation plans. The next thing you know, the county fairs are starting, school supply displays have taken over the stores, and football schedules are showing up everywhere.
Maybe it’s because life gets busier as we get older. Weekends fill up with errands, yard work, family commitments, and catching up on everything we couldn’t get done during the week. Before you know it, another Friday rolls around.
Around Northwest Ohio, summer has its own rhythm. Friday night ballgames. Ice cream after dinner. Community festivals. A drive down a quiet country road. Sitting on the porch after the sun goes down while the cicadas provide the soundtrack.
Those moments don’t last forever.
Maybe that’s why they seem so special.
Instead of worrying about everything still left on the to-do list, maybe this weekend is a good reminder to enjoy a few
simple moments. Grab dinner with family. Take the scenic route home. Call someone you haven’t talked to in a while. Watch a ballgame.
Listen to your favorite album from start to finish.
Summer isn’t over yet.
There’s still plenty of time to make a few more memories before the seasons begin to change.
