This Week in Science:
It’s time for “Nerd News,” covering the most important news for your brain. Here’s a quick rundown of this week in science . . .
1) In ocean news: Experts always thought starfish didn’t have heads, but a new study found their entire body is a head. (???) Apparently now some researches think they lost their torso and other features as they evolved. Quote, “[A starfish] is best described as just a head crawling along the seafloor.”
2) And a space balloon company unveiled the design of its new bathroom with a spectacular view. According to CNN.com, Space Perspective founder and co-CEO Jane Poynter and her team say “Why not have a loo with a view?” Space Perspective intends to take space tourists some 100,000 feet to the edge of space via a pressurized capsule suspended from a high-tech balloon. Poynter says the bathroom is designed to be a place travelers can take stock of their space excursion. “It’s going to be almost overwhelming at certain points, so we wanted to create a space where people could go to take time for themselves for a moment.” The toilet seat itself has a cushion, so you can sit there and “process”. The bathroom design puts “wellness” at the center, according to Poynter hence its official name “Space Spa.”
