2023 is officially the hottest year on record.

The European Union’s Copernicus Climate Change Service’s explained, “2023 has now had six record-breaking months and two record-breaking seasons. The extraordinary global November temperatures, including two days warmer than 2ºC above the preindustrial era, mean that 2023 is the warmest year in recorded history.” 

Scientists also warn that we’re closer to the global warming threshold and that extreme weather events will become more frequent and intense.

Ocean waters are also at their hottest since 2015.
