Most Americans think tipping is tripping. 

A new WalletHub survey found three out of four Americans said tipping “has gotten out of control.”

While tipping is customary for sit-down meals, digital technology has added the pressure to tip for take-out and other non-restaurant services.

Half of the people surveyed said they tip because of social pressure, while a quarter of the respondents said they tip less when a screen prompt to give extra comes up.
