Do you feel pressured to leave a tip every time you’re asked?
Americans Are Tipping Nearly $500 A Year More Than We Want To
A new survey reveals just how bad “tipflation” has gotten, with the average respondent saying they tip just over $37 a month – or around $500 a year – just because they feel pressured to do so!
Out of the 2,000 asked to share about their own tipping experiences, 26% said they tip more than they’d like.
33% of Gen Z and 33% of millennials feel pressured to tip, compared to 23% of Gen X and 13% of baby boomers.
One baffling reveal; 23% of those surveyed said they would tip a vending machine or a self-checkout kiosk even if there was absolutely no human interaction.
