Is the Key to Parenting . . . Dad Jokes?

Parenting is NOT easy, especially in the age of the internet and social media. So, this is encouraging . . . a new study suggests a key to good parenting is . . . HUMOR, that’s right . . . “Dad jokes”. 72% of parents believe humor can be an effective parenting tool, and most parents say they use (or plan to use) humor in parenting their own children. But not everyone is naturally funny . . . 70% of parents say they would be interested in a course on how to utilize humor in parenting. The research shows parental humor could be a secret ingredient in “fostering cognitive flexibility . . . relieving stress . . . and promoting creative problem-solving and resilience in both parents and children”.
