The average cost of a gallon of gas is currently $3.38, around 47 cents lower than this time last year.

Experts say this lowering trend could continue to set gas prices as low as $3 a gallon – the lowest since 2021.

Even though hurricanes and excessive heat affected prices at the pump in 2023, Texas and Louisiana refineries haven’t been affected this year, helping to lower fuel costs.
