What’s causing this new phenomenon?

In something out of a ‘Star Wars’ film, the Earth is getting what scientists are dubbing a “second moon”.

For the next two months, this mini-moon, or 33-foot asteroid, will join Earth’s orbit before heading back out into space.

It will join our night sky starting September 29th.  It’ll stick around until the end of November.
