Don’t Mess With The Mouse!

I’ve talked about parents giving their kids “unique” “goofy” names. And even if you’re fine with them being ruthlessly bullied, are you willing to let it ruin your family vacation? In a GLARING example of why you don’t mess with Mickey Mouse . . . a seven-year-old boy in the U.K. was denied a passport over Star Wars copyright infringement. His name is Loki Skywalker Mowbray, because he was born on May 4th (May the Fourth be with you). When the family applied for a passport, they were told they’d have to get permission from Disney, or change the boy’s name. Obviously, the family wasn’t too hot on either of those options. The story started getting media attention, and eventually the authorities emailed the family and said that a passport WOULD be issued, and that it had just been “delayed”.
