OpenAI Ceo Says Super Intelligence is ‘Near’
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman wrote in a new blog that “it is possible that we will have superintelligence in a few thousand days.”
He says AI has seen new “prosperity” and that the tech could match human intelligence to perform tasks without specific training.
While Altman’s “few thousand days” theory could be criticized for its vagueness, this is the guy that has more knowledge of AI tech than most.
The CEO wrote, “If we want to put AI into the hands of as many people as possible, then we need to drive down the cost of computing and make it abundant (which requires lots of energy and chips). If we don’t build enough infrastructure, AI will be a very limited resource that wars get fought over and that becomes mostly a tool for rich people.”
