Forget “Soft Spaces”
A new policy proposal in the Netherlands says children’s playgrounds are being made TOO safe and boring. And that “risk-taking play” can be better and more interesting for kids, to get them out and off their devices. A new policy proposal, would increase kids’ access to open outdoor play areas, to “climb, play with water and fire, sword-fight with sticks, build with hammers, rope, or knives, and wrestle and fall.” They say it’s not just about making spaces RISKIER, It’s making them LESS BORING.
