Experts say egg prices are expected to rise to record-breaking levels this year. 

The current bird flu outbreak is leading to fewer chickens to lay the eggs.

In December, the average cost of a dozen Grade A large eggs was $4.15.

The all-time high price for a dozen eggs reached $4.82 a dozen in 2023.

The USDA predicts egg prices could jump by 20 percent this year, which would break the record.
