America’s Favorite Side Dish Is No Longer Mashed Potatoes!
It’s election season, and every day there’s “surprising” new polls . . . but NOTHING is as earth-shattering as this: Campbell’s Soup released its annual Thanksgiving poll on America’s favorite sides, and in a major upset, mashed potatoes are NOT #1. There’s a new sheriff in town and its name is STUFFING! The new Top Five: stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, and mac-and-cheese (they must have talked to a lot of older people, because the nation’s kids would NOT agree with green bean casserole being ahead of mac-and-cheese). 38% say they’d be fine to fill their plate with JUST side dishes. And 56% of Americans like Thanksgiving sides more than the entrée (so turkey, ham, or some sort of nut loaf if you’re vegan).
