Most of us are familiar with the phrase “a butt-load”. Basically a description of a large amount of something. Turns out, “butt-load” is a real measurement unit. The word ‘butt’ comes from the Medieval French word for ‘bottle’, and “back in the day” . . . “Butt-load” was used, as a proper measurement unit for beverages in England. It’s kind of amazing that the word is still in use . . . and another episode of I Was Today Years Old When I Found Out . . .
