“Smarm” Has A Cost . . . And Apparently It’s $7,000
JMF, a welding company in Colorado was sued, for not paying a bill. They settled for $23,500, but are back in court after trying to pay with over six tons of LOOSE CHANGE. A flatbed truck showed up at the lawyer’s office, with a box full of quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies, all mixed together. The attorney refused to the coins, and filed another lawsuit, and now they might have to pay more. JMF claims they were NOT being malicious or trying to waste anyone’s time, but if the judge disagrees, they’ll have to pay an additional $7,000 in attorney fees. (Here’s a photo of the coins before they mixed them all up)
