The Best Real Songs from Made-Up Musicians

Over the years, there have been a number of FAKE bands/musicians that have had songs that became hits. Rolling Stone put out a list of the 50 best. “That Thing You Do!” by The Wonders tops the list. There are some other good ones, “School of Rock” (from School of Rock), “Light of Day” by the Barbusters (from Light of Day), “On the Dark Side” (from Eddie and the Cruisers), and even “Earache My Eye” by Alice Bowie (from Up In Smoke). Overall, the list is pretty decent, but I have to say, it loses some validity by not even putting Spinal Tap in the Top 20. Their song “Big Bottom” only clocks in at #23??????
