If you’re big into streaming movies, you may have heard, HBO Max has merged with Discovery+ and become just plain Max. They’ve announced a bunch of cool sounding projects over the next year including . . .

  • A new series out of the “Harry Potter” books with a new cast.
  • A series based in the “Conjuring” universe, that will, “continue the story established in the feature films.”
  • Another “Big Bang Theory” spinoff is happening, it’ll be the second one, after “Young Sheldon”.
  • Robert Downey Jr. plays multiple roles in the post-Vietnam drama “The Sympathizer” (out in 2024).
  • A new “Game of Thrones” prequel called “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight“.
  • Jodie Foster leads a new season of “True Detective“.
  • And a preview for Colin Farrell’s “Penguin” series, which is a spinoff of “The Batman”. The Penguin is scheduled to be released on Max in 2024 and will consist of eight episodes.
