The States With The Worst Road Rage
California might be known for its laid-back surfer vibe, but it’s a different story behind the wheel. “Forbes” polled 10,000 people, to get an idea of the states with the worst ROAD RAGE. They based it on nine different types of confrontations you can have on the road, and California has the worst road rage overall, followed by Missouri, Utah, Oklahoma and Colorado (Indiana was ranked 7th) Hawaii has the calmest drivers overall, followed by South Dakota, North Dakota, Georgia, and Maine. Ohio was right in the middle, ranked #24. Here are a few more quick stats . . .
- New Hampshire and Washington are the worst states for tailgating.
- People in Utah are the most likely to cut you off on purpose.
- Missouri tosses out the most threats and insults (barely edging out Massachusetts and Ohio)
- Drivers in Arkansas are the most likely to FORCE YOU OFF THE ROAD with their car.
The poll also found we’re most likely to experience road rage on the highway, followed by city streets, intersections, and parking lots. And the top things that GIVE us road rage are bad drivers, people driving too aggressively, people cutting you off, and just driving around feeling stressed out by life in general.
