Sex Offender Registration System Technology Upgrade
The Ohio Attorney General’s Office has announced that the state’s sex offender registration system is receiving a technology upgrade.
All 88 Ohio county sheriffs have been provided new cameras to improve the routine registration process of convicted sexual offenders.
Also, sheriff’s offices that requested new computers will receive upgraded machines and software improvements to process sex offender registrations.
In total, nearly $400,000 in upgrades has been made to the registration system.
The money came from a grant provided by the office of sex offender sentencing, monitoring, apprehending, registering and tracking, which is part of the U.S. Department of Justice.
