Are you taking a vacation?
AMERICANS AREN’T USING THEIR VACATION _ Americans are still not taking all of their vacation time each year. According to the most recent data (2019) Americans take an average of 18.1 vacation days annually. That’s down a few days from about 20 years ago (2000). Last year (2022) more than half of Americans (55%) left vacation days unused. So far in 2023 46 percent of workers said they take less time off than offered.
So why aren’t Americans taking all of their vacation time? According to a Project: Time Off study, 95 percent of people surveyed claimed that using their paid time off was very important. However, some possible reasons for not taking vacation time include feeling overwhelmed with work, worrying about losing their job if they take too much time away, or not feeling like they need to take more time off.
