Healthcare Workers say Harassment has Doubled
The CDC reports that healthcare workers are dealing with twice the harassment. 13.4% of health workers said they’d been harassed at work, up from 6.4% in 2018.
Those who are harassed also reported twice the anxiety,
depression and burnout than those who weren’t.
The CDC says staff shortages play a significant role in healthcare workers’ mental struggles.
“Health workers who reported that there were not enough staff members had early two times the odds of reporting symptoms of anxiety and nearly 3 times the odds of reporting burnout compared with those who did not report staffing shortages,” the report reads.
