Female doctors will take better care of you.

According to new research, undergoing certain surgeries is safer when a hospital employs women as at least one-third of its surgical team.

The chance of dying or having severe complications was significantly lower at hospitals with 35 percent or more female surgeons.

The median percentage of women surgeons and anesthesiologists on staff at the hospitals in the survey was 28.

Researchers said, “These findings are important for optimizing patient outcomes and quality care by building intentionally diverse teams.”
