Is Covid just an everyday illness now?
The CDC Changes Covid Isolation Guidance
Last Friday, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced new guidelines for people who test positive for COVID-19.
The CDC has dropped the advice to stay away from others for at least five days while the patient recovers.
Instead, people with COVID-19 should stay at home until not experiencing fever without medication for at least 24 hours.
Regular activities can be resumed, although the CDC said people should still take precautions over the next week, such as having masks, proper ventilation, and limited close contact to avoid spreading the virus.
The updated recommendation puts COVID-19 in the same category as similar respiratory infections like RSV and the flu.
