Lawsuit Claims Cocoa Puffs Has High Levels of Lead
Two lawsuits claim the General Mills cereal Cocoa Puffs contains too much lead.
The filings from California and Minnesota say one cup of Cocoa Puffs contains just under the state’s maximum allowable limit of 0.5 micrograms of lead.
The $5 million class action suit says, “Almost all consumers, however, substantially exceed the recommended serving size per bowl of cereal,” and larger servings are made because of the “prominent depiction of the cereal on the front of the box.”
General Mills said the company doesn’t comment on pending lawsuits.
