A 42-year-old Brazilian woman was arrested after pulling a Weekend At Bernie’s-like stunt in an attempt to secure a $3,400 bank loan. 

Authorities say Erika de Souza Vieira Nunes arrived at the bank with a 68-year-old man in a wheelchair, claiming to be his niece and primary caretaker.

But bank employees quickly noticed that the man, Paulo Roberto Braga, did not appear to be alive – despite Nunes insisting he was just “quiet”. 

She can be seen on video holding up Braga’s head and trying to place a pen in his hand.  

Paramedics were called and confirmed the man had been dead for several hours. 

 Nunes is facing possible charges of attempted fraud and abuse of a corpse.
