Will Dollar Tree Sell Family Dollar?

Dollar Tree might spin off its Family Dollar stores.

On Wednesday, Dollar Tree announced a potential sale of part of its business.

Dollar Tree bought Family Dollar in 2015, but the acquisition hasn’t gone well.

There are 16,397 Dollar Tree-owned stores in the U.S. and Canada. 7,300 of which are Family Dollar branded.

Any closures could affect neighborhoods where there are few low- cost options for groceries and goods.
