TikTok’s already battling the US government over a proposed ban and now the Federal Trade Commission could hit the platform with a lawsuit.

The agency’s conducting a lengthy investigation over the app’s security and privacy practices, especially how it handles children’s data.

The FTC thinks TikTok might be violating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, amid “allegations that the company misled its users by stating falsely that individuals in China do not have access to U.S. user data.”
