More than 254,000 jobs were added in the US last month, with the unemployment rate dipping to 4.1%.

It’s a surprising spike in jobs, as only 150,000 were expected to be added in September.

The news comes two weeks after the Federal Reserve cut interest rates by 50 basis points, the first cut since inflation started spiking in 2022.
