They may still be more than 350 million miles away, but to the naked eye Mars and Jupiter will appear the closest they’ve seemed since 2018 on Wednesday.

To our eyes, it will look like only a sliver of the moon could fit between the two planets.

Look to the eastern sky just before daybreak on Wednesday to see Mars and Jupiter get chummy.  It won’t happen again until 2033, when they’ll look even closer to one another.
