Man Returns From Overseas Trip; Gets $143,000 Phone Bill
Rene Remund and his wife took a vacation in the Swiss Alps last fall.
When the couple returned home to Florida, they found an outrageous cell phone bill from T-Mobile.
Remund said the phone company charged him $143,000 for using 9.5 gigabytes of data while overseas.
Even though Remund told T-Mobile about his travel plans and set his account to get data, the bill was mind-blowing.
After calling T-Mobile to verify if the bill was legitimate, Remund reached out to an attorney for assistance.
When Remund called his local news affiliate in Tampa to tell his story, T-Mobile was quick to write off the charges.
