Sammy Hagar Auctioning ‘I Can’t Drive 55’

Sammy Hagar will auction off his 1982 Ferrari 512BB Ferrari at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Fall Auction on October 6th, the eve of his 77th birthday.

He told ‘Axios’, “Honestly, It’s just too much car for me. This is a real race car. This should belong to someone who has great eyesight, great reflexes, about half my age — and very wealthy.”

Hagar was one of only 499 people invited to purchase the LaFerrari, flying to Italy to choose the vanilla exterior and white interior.

Hagar even used the car in his ‘I Can’t Drive 55’ music video.

This LeFerrari is also responsible for Hagar joining Van Halen. Eddie Van Halen asked who it belonged to when he saw it at a mechanic’s shop.  The mechanic told him about Hagar and said, “You should get him in your band.”
