Man Creates 20-Foot Replica of Leg Lamp from ‘A Christmas Story’

One Florida man has set himself apart from his neighbors’ decorations this holiday season.

He combined his love for Christmas decorating and the classic 1983 movie A Christmas Story by creating a massive replica of the film’s most memorable moments in the front yard of his Neptune Beach home.

“You’re looking at an exact scale replica of the leg lamp from A Christmas Story,”  J.P. Michalik told WJXT. “It is 420% bigger than the one that appears in the movie, so it’s 20 feet tall.”

He explained that he came up with the idea after a restless night of sleep, and then had an “epiphany.”

“People come by, and sometimes their kids haven’t seen the movie and they’re like, ‘Oh no, we gotta go home, and we’re going to force you to watch this movie,‘ ” he added.
