In a regulatory filing Friday (May 31), Beverly Hills-based Live Nation alleged “a criminal threat actor” sought to sell Ticketmaster data on the dark web on May 27.

According to other media sources, ShinyHunters, a hacker organization, claimed responsibility for the breach in an online forum and sought $500,000 for millions of Ticketmaster users’ names, addresses, phone numbers, and some credit card information.

Live Nation told the SEC it was “working to mitigate risk to our users” and cooperating with law authorities.

It denied the breach would have “a material impact on our overall business operations.”
