The early bird special isn’t just for seniors anymore.
More Americans are eating dinner earlier, opting to eat their final meal of the day between 5 and 6pm.
Even the number of dinner reservations made for between 2 and 5pm have doubled since 2019.
Americans are ordering takeout and delivery earlier, too. Grub Hub’s dinner peak is now between 5 and 7pm.
States like Maine and Pennsylvania dine the earliest, at around 5:40pm while Washington, DC residents dine the latest, just after 7:30pm.
The biggest factor in these earlier dinners? More people are working from home, allowing for more flexible dining hours.
