Will we see more hurricanes in the second half of the season?
Forecasters Make Mid-Hurricane Season Prediction
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has made its midseason update during hurricane season.
In a statement, the organization said, “NOAA’s update to the hurricane seasonal outlook is an important reminder that the peak of hurricane season is right around the corner, when historically the most significant impacts from hurricanes and tropical storms tend to occur.”
NOAA’s midseason predictions haven’t changed much from its original thoughts. The forecasters expect 17 to 24 named storms, with 8 to 13 likely to be hurricanes with 4 to 7 major hurricanes developing.
Two tropical storms and two hurricanes have already occurred this year.
Hurricane season lasts from June 1st until November 30th.
