Google Flights has released its 2024 travel trends. The data shows some interesting details about the best time to book airplane tickets for the holidays.

For Thanksgiving, Google Flights suggests that 26 to 59 days in advance is the best time to book, with 45 days out being the least expensive. That means getting Turkey Day travel purchased in early October. 

For Christmas and New Year’s, Google Flights said to buy tickets 36 to 72 days beforehand, with 58 days out being the cheapest. So, be ready to snag your winter holiday flights toward the end of October.  

In general, Google said to book Tuesday flights for the best deals. Monday and Wednesday flights are also usually not as expensive.

Is there a best day of the week to find cheap flights? Google said Tuesdays are OK, but on average, they are 1.3 percent more affordable than booking tickets on Sunday, the most expensive day to buy air travel.
