Town Gets High After Police Burn Confiscated Weed
When you’re stressed, some people say they mellow out by walking outside and getting some fresh air, while others say they chill out by smoking some weed. Well the Turkish town of “Lice” (population 25,000) covered BOTH bases. Apparently the WHOLE TOWN GOT HIGH inadvertently, after authorities “open burned” more than 20 TONS of seized cannabis in the town center. People say the air became thick with weed smoke for 5 days, forcing residents to keep their windows closed and avoid going outside. Officials didn’t burn the weed in an incinerator, they arranged the bags in the shape of letters spelling out the name of the town (L-I-C-E), and that’s why the smoke got out of control. The marijuana had been confiscated over the previous two years, and they say it was valued at more than $261 MILLION in U.S. money. Ironically it happened back on April 18th, two days before 4/20!
