How to Get That Campfire Smell Out of Your Clothes

THIS might come in handy after this weekend . . . camping is one of the most fun things you can do with your friends and family. But for some, the drawbacks is that “campfire smell” that seems to stay on your clothes for weeks. Now I gotta be honest, I like that smell because it’s an “odoriferous reminder” of the fun you had hanging out with friends by the campfire. But not everybody feels the same way. So here are five tips you can try, to get rid of that strong smoke smell . . .

  1. Air out your clothes: Fresh air and sunshine help break down odor molecules.
  2. Wash in warm water: Heat open up fabric fibers which releases the campfire smell.
  3. Use baking soda: Add it to your washing machine, baking soda is a great odor neutralizers.
  4. Try activated charcoal: Seal your clothes in a bag with some charcoal overnight, and let it work its magic.
  5. Try lemon juice: Combine lemon juice and water in a spray bottle with a ratio of 1:6 and spritz your clothes, inside and out. (As a bonus, now you’ll smell like Mr. Clean!)
